Rack Decom Datatech, Data Center Operations

We are looking to hire a Technician to join our Decommissioning Technical team. The team is responsible for processing and facilitating large scale legacy Data Center equipment through a liquidation process to ensure that targeted equipment is ready to be removed from the premises.



Key job responsibilities
• Decommissioning and processing of legacy hardware out of the data center facilities.
• Moving/lifting IT equipment, using manual handling tools.
• Unpacking/repacking fragile electronics.
• Relocating and moving of large equipment.
• Operate HDD and SSD destruction machinery.
• Creating/attaching labels and barcodes.
• Hard drive installation and removal, and destruction.
• Basic Networking removal/installation
• Updating work progress through a web system.
• Reporting of processes and regular status updates.
• Documenting procedures.
• Escalating to senior technicians and management as needed/required.

Familiarity with basic PC components/hardware:
• HDD/SSD/Flash/Removable storage media
• Peripheral Equipment. Ram/CPU /Motherboard/Add on card - High school or equivalent diploma
- Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system and coordination with Manager
- Basic knowledge of IT hardware (desktops, laptops, servers) and its configurations.
- Good written and verbal communication - Passionate about IT infrastructure and hardware.
- Networking knowledge.
