Amazon is looking for a Software Development Engineer who is passionate, innovative and have a heart for Nourishing People and the Planet. You will be working on designing and developing long term, scalable and high-impact initiatives within the Worldwide Grocery Stores Tech (WWGST) organization.
Key job responsibilities
- Solve complex problems by applying appropriate technologies and best practices.
- Collaborate with teams to invent, design, and build stable, high-performing, and scalable software solutions.
- Make judicious trade-offs, reuse existing components where feasible, and carefully manage dependencies.
- Provide technical guidance, advise on the team's direction, and offer feedback on designs.
- Create prototypes to assist in decision-making processes.
- Foster cross-team collaboration by working closely with partner teams across the organization.
A day in the life
You will design, develop, and deploy reliable, distributed solutions at Amazon scale. Collaboration with teams across World Wide Grocery Stores will be essential as you help build industry leading solutions. The ideal candidate excels in ambiguous environments, understands risks and dependencies and maintains focus on architectural goals while delivering incremental launches with high quality. - 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team - 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $151,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
